Event for Past MND Carers: Craft and Connect
This event is an opportunity to remember the person you cared for while sharing a hands-on creative experience.
While you paint your very own blue cornflower bunch we will have conversations around the themes of healing, grief recovery and ways to maintain good memories. You will reconnect with old friends from MND NSW and meet others who have shared a similar journey.
We invite you to bring along a photo of the person you cared for and to extend this invitation to your friends and family.
Each attendee will receive a craft box which includes all materials and glass vase, no crafting or painting experience required.
Light refreshments will be provided, registration is essential.
Event pilot
With thanks to Ms Sharon Green & her partner Mr Marcel Skjald who provided the funding for this new Care Program initiative, we are running this event as a pilot for possible future rollout.
If you are a past carer from the Central Coast area, we would love for you to help us with this pilot, and we will ask you to complete a short survey after the event.
If this pilot is successful, we will look to roll out the initiative to support past carers from across our service delivery areas.
Who may attend
This event is for carers, families and friends who have experienced bereavement in the 3 months - 2 years before the date of this event.
Please note this session is not suitable for people who are recently bereaved. If you are recently bereaved within the past 3 months and you would like support to navigate bereavement, grief and loss, view the carer support page of our website for information about grief and bereavement support or call us on 1800 777 175.
